🏛️ EXHIBITION 🏛️

Grateful Gallery opens its doors this evening for a massive one — the first ever solo show in Scotland from mural icon @smugone.

Smug’s impact on Glasgow can’t be overstated. His hyperreal murals have transformed gable ends across the city into landmarks — loved by locals, tourists, and artists alike. But for those who’ve been watching since day one, this moment hits different.

Before the world caught on, Smug was painting in the shadows — under the M8, tunnel walls turned masterpieces — works that few ever saw in person but live on in grainy photos and local legend.

This new solo show, hosted by the brilliant team at @gratefulglasgow, offers a rare look into Smug’s studio practice — an intimate, collectable side of his work that contrasts the towering scale of his murals.

The show launches tonight (Thurs 10 July) from 6–9pm, and runs until Sunday 3 August during regular gallery hours.

🎨 Expect signature precision, storytelling, and that uncanny sense of life Smug is known for

Big shout to Grateful for making this happen — and to Smug for bringing it home.
